The mayor of Russell, Mike Tarnowski, is proposing that the United Counties of Prescott-Russell adopt a new property tax subclass for multi-family buildings.
This measure would provide tax relief only to affordable housing units subject to rent control agreements, in order to stimulate rental supply.
Treasurer Valérie Parisien will present a report on Wednesday, specifying the possible impacts on residential taxpayers.
