Doug Ford was in Embrun on Monday to announce a $10-million provincial investment in the Russell Recreation Complex, a $104-million project already under construction since 2024 and scheduled to open in the fall of 2026.
The complex will include three ice rinks, an aquatic centre and a community hall, and is expected to attract 600,000 visitors per year. Mayor Mike Tarnowski was pleased with this funding, which covers nearly 10% of the project.
The province also provided an additional $2 million to upgrade arenas in Clarence-Rockland, Hawkesbury and St-Isidore.
