The Township of Alfred and Plantagenet is tendering for the Plantagenet Lagoon Upgrade and Expansion Project. The project, valued at $17 million, received a provincial grant of $13.8 million, covering 73% of the costs.
Built in 1974, the lagoon is operating at 133% of its capacity, slowing down the development of the village.
The council will also look at the cost of the connections during the 2026 budget discussions.
