Replacement Cost To UV System At L’Orignal Treatment Plant Will Cost More Than Expected

The replacement of the UV system at the L’Orignal wastewater treatment plant will cost $95,000 more than expected, due to U.S. tariffs that have increased the cost of components and materials. The Township of Champlain Council has therefore approved an increase in the budget, from $440,000 to $535,000. The current system, which has become obsolete and difficult to repair, will be replaced in 2026. The municipality has already purchased all the spare parts available to keep it functional until then.
