The Township of Russell has passed its 2026 budget, providing for a 3.94 per cent tax increase, well below the initial draft of 8.4 per cent. A large portion of the increase comes from the OPP contract. For an average household, this is about $92 more per year. Water and sewer rates are also increasing to finance a future wastewater treatment plant in the long term.
