On November 24, 2025, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Rockland OPP and emergency services responded to a head-on, two-vehicle collision on County Road 17 near Canaan Road. One individual was transported to a trauma centre in unknown condition.
The highway was closed from Canaan Road to Carmen Bergeron Street in Rockland for several hours causing major delays for those returning home from work. Some motorists noted the detours created an additional 45-60 minutes in their commute time. The highway was re-opened in both directions shortly after 5:00pm.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the Ontario Provincial Police.
