The Town of Hawkesbury is pleased to announce that construction of the new municipal garage is now complete. This modern facility replaces the old garage at 855 Main Street, which had served the community since 1971 but could no longer meet today’s needs.
Over the years, the old garage became unsafe and outdated. Its wooden structure had weakened with age, and temporary supports were holding parts of the ceiling in place. As equipment, vehicles, and safety standards evolved, it became clear that the old garage
was no longer suitable.
A professional evaluation in 2022 confirmed that major upgrades would be required, and even then, the location posed ongoing risks.
The new municipal garage provides staff with a safe, clean, and efficient place to work, and it ensures that the Town can continue delivering essential services to residents reliably and responsibly.
