Funding Gap Of $11 Million In SD&G

By Derrick Scott Dec 17, 2025 | 6:14 AM

A new asset management plan presented to SDG’s United Counties Council reveals an annual funding gap of $11 million to keep infrastructure in good condition. The total needs are estimated at nearly $30 million per year, mainly for roads, bridges and culverts. Without new revenue streams, the gap is expected to be filled by property tax increases of about 2.6 per cent per year until 2032. The plan was unanimously approved.
