The United Counties of Prescott and Russell confirm the election by acclamation of the Mayor of Clarence-Rockland, Mario Zanth, as the 2026 Chairperson of Council. Elected municipal councillor since 2014 and mayor since 2021, he will focus on infrastructure, housing, sustainable development and responsible financial management. At the inaugural meeting, outgoing President Yves Laviolette presented $46,000 to 11 community organizations through the President’s Fund.
