Sielle St-André, a 13-year-old from École Secondaire Catholique de Plantagenet enjoys Hip Hop dancing at Extravadanse Academy in Rockland, as well as reading and playing baseball. And she has a real knack for trivia.
She competed with other teenagers on the Game TV Network’s show Pop Whiz. The show is a travelling game show where teenagers compete to show off their knowledge of pop culture. The show travels to all major cities in Canada.
After submitting an audition video earlier this year she was selected to compete when the show made a stop in Ottawa. The show was recorded last April, but her episode aired over the weekend. Sielle flew through round one at least answering all questions so she would not lose points. She was surprised that she got through the first round, and round two had more challenging questions, but Sielle was victorious earning $250.00.
In the final round it was Sielle versus Evan, but she move ahead becoming Ottawa’s Pop Whiz champion, and winning another $500.00.
As a typical teenager, she has already spent the money, including on a shopping outing to Sephora.
