Scotiabank Vankleek Hill recently presented a $3,000 donation to the Higginson Tower Committee, matching ticket sales from the holiday show Elvis: A Christmas Special. The performance, featuring Vankleek Hill native Pete Paquette with musicians and backup singers, took place at Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute on December 12, with about 230 tickets sold in advance.
Thanks to the support of Scotiabank and other sponsors, the event raised nearly $15,000 for the committee. Funds help cover insurance, hydro, special events, advertising, summer student support, and other operational costs for the tower, which is owned by Champlain Township.
