North Glengarry City Council is concerned about the operating costs of the Glengarry Memorial Hospital pool. The municipality partnered with the hospital in 2023 to reopen the facilities, which have been accessible to the public since the spring of 2024. The pool offers community activities, swimming lessons and rehabilitation services. For now, more than 30 hours of programming are offered each week. However, annual expenditures exceed $83,000, mainly in lifeguard salaries. The revenue generated by registrations reaches about $42,000. Options are being explored to improve revenues while keeping rates affordable.
