The City Of Clarence-Rockland had bus transit, introduced in 2003, later phased out around 2019 due to the pandemic, and some would say poor ridership.
It was operated very well by Leduc as a subsidized free service. Citizens want a return to transit and have launched a Facebook group.
Many people believe as the population has increased, and many travel into Ottawa daily for work this service would be viable and is needed. Others fear if a similar service returns to the city, taxes will have to pay for the transit.. One resident suggested that the City Of Clarence-Rockland partner up with OC Transpo, where a one morning, and one evening return bus service could be launched.
The idea has caught the attention of Clarence-Rockland Mayor Mario Zanth, who plans to meet with the group to discuss their ideas.
