The Township of Alfred and Plantagenet will purchase a used tanker truck for the Alfred Fire Station in exchange for two existing vehicles and a disbursement of $215,000. The new truck, a 2018 truck with a capacity of 3,000 gallons, will replace a vehicle that has reached the end of its useful life.
The Alfred and Lefaivre tankers will be transferred to the supplier, and the balance will be financed by the fire department’s reserve fund. The removal of the truck in Lefaivre is aimed at long-term savings.
