The United Counties of Prescott and Russell have approved the acquisition of 59 acres of private wooded land in the heart of the Larose Forest to consolidate and protect the central forest block between Limoges and Casselman. In exchange, they ceded 10 acres along the Route des Pins near Limoges, intended for residential development. The operation aims to reduce forest fragmentation while generating land revenue. The transaction remains subject to severance approvals and an environmental analysis.
