Larose Forest Gets a New Warm-Up and Gathering Shelter for ATV and Snowmobile Enthusiasts

By Derrick Scott Feb 2, 2026 | 5:32 AM

Larose Forest, in cooperation with the United Counties of Prescott and Russell (UCPR), the ATV Club of Eastern Ontario, and the Eastern Ontario Snowmobile Club, is excited to announce a joint project to build a Warm-Up and Gathering Shelter in the heart of the forest.

Larose Forest has long been a favourite destination for both ATV and snowmobile riders. The heavy traffic of riders during both summer and winter made this project a natural step, providing a place where enthusiasts can warm up, relax, and gather.

Project Background

In 2023, the ATV Club of Eastern Ontario approached Larose Forest Management with the idea of creating a shelter that would serve as a winter warming spot and a summer gathering place for ATV and snowmobile enthusiasts. Larose Forest Management reached out to UCPR, the forest owner, and received full support.

A partnership was then formed between the ATV Club of Eastern Ontario and the Eastern Ontario Snowmobile Club to make the project a reality.

This initiative is entirely self-funded, relying on corporate and private donations as well as fundraising through ATV and snowmobile events. No funds are being taken from the clubs’ annual operating budgets. Larose Forest will provide and prepare the site, with a target completion date of Fall 2027.

The shelter will be located at a central spot in Larose Forest, accessible from both ATV and snowmobile trails.
