The Nation Fire Department received nearly $64,000 in funding through the Ontario Fire Safety Grant. The funds will be used to purchase protective equipment, including filter hoods, specialized gloves and fire blankets for battery-related fires. The aim is to reduce exposure to hazardous substances, prevent the risk of cancer and improve the safety of firefighters.
