Two residents of Rockland and Orleans have been fined nearly $9,000 for moose hunting offences in 2024, the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources announced. One was hunting without a licence and the other hunted without the owner’s permission and handled a weapon in a dangerous manner. The incident occurred in the Mer Bleue marsh sector, where hunting is prohibited.

Both lost their hunting licenses for a year.
