It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Lowell Green as noted on his social media page.
He built a legendary career at CFRA, where his “Greenline” show made him one of North America’s longest-running open-line talk hosts. His influence reached far beyond radio — through community advocacy, publishing, and helping found what became the Ottawa Sun. His historic broadcasts are preserved at Library and Archives Canada.
Honoured throughout his life, including recognition from prime ministers John Diefenbaker, Lester B. Pearson, Pierre Trudeau, and Stephen Harper, Lowell leaves a lasting mark on Ottawa and Canada.
Lowell died suddenly on Saturday, February 14. He will be remembered for his voice, his conviction, and his commitment to public conversation. The family requests privacy at this time.
