The Assemblée de la francophonie de l’Ontario held a consultation in Alexandria as part of a provincial tour to reflect on the future of the Franco-Ontarian community. These meetings, which are part of the organization’s general assembly, serve to identify solutions to current challenges, such as the integration of newcomers, the fight against assimilation and the improvement of French-language services. Executive Director Peter Hominuk notes that the community is going through an important moment and that existing structures, some of which are decades old, need to be redesigned to better meet current and future needs.
