The Alfred-Plantagenet Municipal Council is considering a petition calling for the speed limit to be reduced from 80 to 60 km/h on Concession 1 in Plantagenet. The petition, signed by nearly 50 residents, cites concerns for the safety of pedestrians, children and cyclists. Concession 1 and Highway 21 are the only municipal roads still limited to 80 km/h. Council supports the request and will consider a formal by-law at its next meeting.
