A fire destroyed at least six trailers Tuesday afternoon at MapleView Campground in Clarence-Rockland. According to fire chief Martin Rousseau, the fire started in a car before quickly spreading to campers due to wind, propane tanks and other structures around it.
Nearly 60 firefighters, with the help of The Nation, and Ottawa, battled the flames. No one was injured. The causes remain unknown. The fire occurred at the beginning of the camping season, forcing some campers to leave the premises.
Below is some video footage sent into BIG-FM from an annual camper on site.
