Four paramedics from the United Counties of Prescott and Russell received the OPP Team Courage Accolade Award, a first for their service. Stéphane Huppé, Yan Bellefeuille, Christian Larochelle and Jean-François Fillion were honoured for their intervention during the May 11, 2023 shooting in Bourget, where Sergeant Eric Mueller lost his life. Despite a still active threat, they rescued an injured police officer. The OPP praised “extraordinary courage,” saying their act was “heroic.”
