Prescott-Russell and the entire Ottawa–Gatineau region is invited to a unique community fundraiser on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Bergeron Garden Centre, De La Baie Road, just off County Road 17 in Clarence-Rockland.
BIG-FM’s Blooms For Cancer will see Bergeron Garden Centre donating a portion of all sales from flowers, vegetables, and gardening and planting supplies to two important causes: the Canadian Cancer Society and the Rockland Help Centre food bank.
The event is being held in honour of Bergeron Garden Centre owner Michel Bergeron’s late wife, Thérèse Bergeron, who lost her life to cancer last May. Thérèse was an integral part of not only Bergeron Garden Centre, but also Landtech, another business owned by the Bergeron family. The family has long been committed to giving back, supporting local causes and community events throughout their 65 years in business.
Proceeds will also be donated to the Rockland Help Centre, the local food bank that continues to see rising demand week after week. According to President Daniel E. Sabourin, donations typically drop during the summer months, while demand continues to grow as food insecurity remains a pressing issue across the region.
In addition to the portion of sales being donated, listeners will be encouraged to drop off monetary donations and non-perishable food items on site throughout the day.

Weather permitting, BIG-FM’s Derrick Scott, host of The BIG Breakfast and Operations Manager for 92.5 BIG-FM Clarence-Rockland and 107.7 BIG-FM Hawkesbury, will broadcast live from the new, oversized BIG BIG Chair at the entrance of Bergeron Garden Centre.
“When I came up with the idea, I reached out to Michel Bergeron, and without hesitation—and after hearing just a few details—he said, ‘I’m in,’” said Scott.
Along with extensive on-air promotion across both BIG-FM stations, the initiative will also be supported on sister station 92.1 GO-FM.
“This is another example of how the GO BIG Radio Group—BIG-FM and GO-FM—is deeply connected to the community and the causes that matter, while creating unique opportunities for our advertisers,” said BIG-FM and GO-FM General Manager Mathieu Manning.
“Since the creation of the GO BIG Radio Group just over a year ago, our audiences have grown beyond expectations for both 92.1 GO-FM and the two BIG-FM stations. Despite competition from larger markets, we continue to dominate the region in both French and English thanks to locally focused programming, strong local and regional news coverage, and our commitment to connecting listeners with local businesses and meaningful community events like this one,” Manning added.
While the live broadcast from the BIG Chair is weather dependent, BIG-FM’s Blooms For Cancer event will take place rain or shine.
