Opponents of the proposed ALTO high-speed rail project are expected to gather on Parliament Hill today for a protest organized by Kathleen O’Connell Renaud and ALTNO. Participants will meet at the Alexandra Bridge at 11:30 this morning before marching to Parliament Hill for a rally beginning at 12:30. Organizers say they expect at least 500 people to attend, including supporters arriving by bus from Vankleek Hill, which will leave for Ottawa at 9:30.
Renaud was on The BIG Breakfast with Derrick Scott this morning to talk about the protest, her involvement in joining the group. The question on The Franco Ontarian Festival accepting sponsorship money from ALTO also came up.
