Casselman is launching a community food pantry pilot project that is accessible at all times to provide quick and unconditional food assistance to people in need. Initiated by Brittany Octeau, manager of the local pharmacy, and supported by Mayor Geneviève Lajoie, the facility operates on the principle of anonymous sharing of non-perishable food. Built and financed by the mayor and her husband, the structure will serve as a test project to create a regional network of community food pantries in the United Counties of Prescott and Russell. An official opening will take place soon.
