The Township of Champlain is studying a project to open an asphalt shingle recycling centre near L’Orignal. The site would be used only for the crushing, sorting and storage of materials, without the construction of buildings. Some councillors expressed concerns about the future activities of the site and its operation during the winter. The municipal council will make a final decision on the project at its meeting on August 20.
