Long-time Clarence-Rockland resident and local business owner Raymond Luttmer is officially entering the race for Ward 3 on Clarence-Rockland Town Council.
Luttmer has called Clarence-Rockland home for more than 21 years. He and his wife have been married for over 15 years and are raising their three children, ages 13, 9 and 7, in the community. He has also been running his local business, CompuFix, since 2001.
A certified computer technician, Luttmer operates CompuFix in Rockland, where the business serves as both a computer repair shop and a parcel shipping hub. Through his daily interactions with residents, families and local business owners, he says he has developed a strong understanding of the challenges facing the community.
Luttmer says he’s running for council because he believes it’s time for a new approach to local government.
“Clarence-Rockland needs a genuine, meaningful shift in how local government operates,” he said. “For too long, important issues have been pushed down the road instead of being addressed with practical solutions.”
As both a small business owner and a parent, Luttmer says he understands the financial pressures many families are facing, including the rising cost of living and the need for improved municipal services. He believes council should focus on solving today’s problems while planning responsibly for the future.
If elected, Luttmer says his campaign will focus on three key priorities:
- Supporting families and seniors by improving neighbourhood infrastructure, expanding youth programs and ensuring seniors have the services they need to remain in the community.
- Fiscal accountability by applying a small-business approach to municipal spending and ensuring taxpayers receive measurable value for every dollar spent.
- Grassroots representation by maintaining an open-door policy, listening to residents and providing responsive leadership for Ward 3.
Luttmer says he wants to be a strong voice for Ward 3 and ensure residents have greater input into the decisions that shape the future of Clarence-Rockland.
