On Monday, July 27, 2026, at approximately 8:20 p.m., officers with the OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision in Nation Township.
As a result of the investigation, Etienne LAVOIE, a 53-year-old male from Alfred-Plantagenet Township, has been charged with the following offences.
· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
· Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
· Having care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor
· Race a motor vehicle
· Owner operate a motor vehicle without insurance
· Use plate not authorized for vehicle
· Drive motor vehicle, no validation on plate
· Possess unmarked cigarettes
The motorist received a 90-day driver’s licence suspension, and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
