Stormont—Dundas—Glengarry South MPP and Minister of Colleges and Universities Nolan Quinn defended the timing of several Progressive Conservative MPs from Eastern Ontario to voice their concerns about the Alto high-speed rail project. On July 29, 11 Eastern Ontario MPPs issued a statement saying that many questions remain unanswered and that the concerns of some citizens are not being sufficiently heard in federal consultations. Quinn says she’s received a lot of feedback from residents over the past few months, including farmers, communities and businesses. He maintains that the deputies want to ensure that their concerns are taken into account in the development of the Alto HSR project.
