The candidate for mayor of Hawkesbury, Gilles Roch Greffe, wants to study a possible merger with the Township of Champlain in order to reduce operating costs. However, he would wait for the election of the next Champlain council before launching discussions with the municipality, the United Counties and the province. The former proposes to review spending, maximize subsidies and multiply municipal partnerships before considering tax increases.
