Little Legacy Shop In Bourget Closing Its Doors – For Now

By Derrick Scott Sep 8, 2026 | 6:00 PM

A familiar local business is closing its doors temporarily, but its owner says the story of The Little Legacy Shop is far from over.

Katelyn Dawn, owner of The Little Legacy Shop in Bourget, announced on social media that the shop will be temporarily closing, while hinting that some big changes are happening behind the scenes.

In a heartfelt message to customers and the community, Dawn reflected on how the shop grew into much more than a storefront.

She thanked the people who supported the business through purchases, donations, social media shares, conversations and simple acts of encouragement.

According to Dawn, many of the people who first walked through the shop’s doors as strangers became an important part of The Little Legacy journey.

But while the physical doors may be closing for now, Dawn says this isn’t the end.

“There are some BIG things happening behind the scenes,” she shared, promising that there is more to come and encouraging customers to stay tuned for the next chapter.

Dawn also expressed her gratitude to the Bourget community and everyone who helped turn what began as “a little dream” into something much bigger.

The temporary closure marks the end of one chapter for The Little Legacy Shop — but judging by Dawn’s message, another chapter may be just around the corner.

“The doors may be closing for now… but the legacy is only getting started.”
