Drivers in Prescott-Russell are being reminded to plan for delays as road construction gets underway in two areas.
Rehabilitation work begins today on the Highway 417 bridge near the Saint-Isidore exit. The work is expected to continue until December 4.
During construction, one eastbound lane will be closed, along with the ramp from Exit 51 to Highland Road. Drivers will instead need to continue to Exit 35 at McCrimmon Road and follow the posted detour.
A temporary concrete barrier will also be installed, and motorists should expect slower traffic through the area.
Meanwhile, road rehabilitation is continuing in downtown Hawkesbury.
Old asphalt has been removed from sections of John Street and Main Street, with work also planned for William Street. The City has awarded Cornwall Gravel a contract worth more than $405,000 for the project.
Sidewalk and curb repairs have already been completed, with new asphalt on all three streets expected to be in place by mid-October.
Drivers are being asked to slow down and follow posted signs around both construction zones.
