Community Services is urgently looking for volunteers to help deliver Meals on Wheels to seniors and other residents in need in Hawkesbury and the surrounding area, as well as Clarence-Rockland.
The program relies on volunteers to deliver meals directly to people who may have difficulty preparing food or getting out of their homes. But the deliveries provide more than just a meal — volunteers also offer a friendly visit and a quick wellness check, which can make a meaningful difference for people living independently.
The volunteer commitment is flexible, with delivery routes available on various weekdays. Most routes take approximately one to two hours to complete.
Volunteers must have a valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle. Mileage reimbursement is available.
Community Services says volunteers are especially needed in Rockland and Hawkesbury and are being encouraged to join the team helping vulnerable residents remain independent in their own homes.
