The Palace long-term care home in Alexandria could close as part of a consolidation project presented by Southbridge Care Homes. The company wants to consolidate 248 beds from The Palace, Pinecrest in Plantagenet and Heartwood in Cornwall into a new 320-bed centre in Cornwall. The Township of North Glengarry is opposed to the project, fearing a loss of local services for residents and their families. The public can submit their comments to the Ministry of Long-Term Care by October 16.
