The Township of North Glengarry will maintain its household hazardous waste depot at 265 Industrial Boulevard in Alexandria. Open since mid-August, it serves approximately 55 to 60 vehicles each Friday. The depot will be open on Fridays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The municipality estimates that this model could reduce its net annual costs to about $28,000, compared to nearly $43,000 for the previous annual collection. Agreements with Stormont North and Glengarry South are also being considered.
