Wheels Of Hope Launched

By Derrick Scott Oct 13, 2026 | 6:11 AM

The Prescott-Russell Residence Foundation is launching its Wheels of Hope campaign, a community raffle to raise funds for an adapted vehicle that will help residents get where they need to go safely and comfortably.

For seniors living with reduced mobility, everyday outings can be a challenge. Whether it’s attending a medical appointment, taking part in a community activity or visiting family and friends, transportation can make a significant difference. The new adapted vehicle will accommodate residents who use wheelchairs, helping improve their mobility, independence and overall quality of life.

Tickets are $20 each, with only 1,000 available. The draw will take place on December 5 at 10 a.m. at the Prescott-Russell Residence, located at 900 Spence Avenue in Hawkesbury.

Four prizes will be awarded, thanks to the generosity of local donors:

  • A $3,000 gift certificate from Asselin Indépendant
  • A $2,000 gift certificate from Ameublement Malaket
  • Fifty $20 gift certificates for Restaurant Déjà Vu, with a total value of $1,000
  • Two tickets to see the Montréal Canadiens take on the New Jersey Devils on March 27, 2027, valued at $850

Tickets can be purchased by e-transfer to mdicaire@fondation-rpr.ca or in person, with cash only, at the three participating businesses. Dates and times for in-person ticket sales have not yet been confirmed. The Foundation encourages the public to follow its social media posts for updates.

Foundation president Denise Robitaille extends her thanks to Asselin Indépendant, Malaket Furniture, Restaurant Déjà Vu, and Yves and his wife, for their generous contributions to the campaign.

The Prescott-Russell Residence Foundation was established to help the Residence acquire priority equipment needed to provide quality care. Through its ongoing efforts, the Foundation continues to support the well-being of local seniors and improve their day-to-day lives.

Every ticket purchased helps bring the Wheels of Hope campaign closer to its goal of providing residents with greater freedom, accessibility and opportunities to stay connected with their community.
